We know that residents of Płońsk passionately collect and preserve their home archives, often documenting important family histories. That’s why we invite you to two workshops this November, led by Przemek Jaczewski at the Memorial House!
Workshop 1: Digitizing and preserving your home archive – slides, negatives, documents – Saturday, November 22nd, 11:00 AM
Participants will learn how to properly digitize photographic and paper materials (slides, negatives, photos, documents), how to prepare them for digital archiving, and how to describe, catalog, and preserve digital files.
Workshop 2: Basic photography workshop with a focus on historical objects and archival materials – Saturday, November 29th, 11:00 AM
Participants will learn how to properly photograph historical monuments and archival materials in a documentary manner, how to choose the right lighting, settings, and background, how to avoid distortion, and how to achieve accurate color.
The workshops are part of our project this year, “Jewish Photographic Studios in Płońsk – a Series of Cultural Events” co-financed by the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland.
Please note! Registration for the workshops is required by email at dompamieci@mckplonsk.pl or by phone at +48 882 872 837. The number of places is limited. Both workshops will be conducted in Polish.
