This year’s European Days of Jewish Culture begin on September 7th, with the primary goal of highlighting the diversity and richness of Jewish culture and its historical significance at the local, regional, and national levels.
As part of the EDJC, at the Memorial House we will organize the following workshops for children from schools and kindergartens in Płońsk:
“In the Płońsk Synagogue” – educational workshops during which participants will learn the history of the Płońsk synagogue, including what the Torah, the Aron Kodesh, or the bimah are, as well as what a rabbi does. During the workshop, children will make and decorate canvas bags with the Hebrew letter “aleph.”
“Józef Budko – Artist from Płońsk” – art workshops focusing on the work of painter and graphic artist Józef Budko, during which participants will learn about his life, view examples of his works, and create art inspired by it (using easels and canvases).
The workshops will take place between September 9th and 30th (exact date and time to be arranged with the group’s teacher). The workshops are free of charge, but number of places is limited. Registration is required by calling +48 882 872 837 or emailing dompamieci@mckplonsk.pl. All workshops conducted in Polish.
The event is part of the Cities Embracing Jewish Heritage initiative, supported by the Combat AntiSemitism Movement and the AEPJ (European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage).
